Mixed-media textile assemblages about matriarchs of Latine families, and what we hold on to.
Bata Series
This work centers specifically on the bata, the house dress worn by working-class Latinas as they cook, clean, and raise children. The bata represents lineage, endurance, and unrecorded intellectual labor. It embodies a legacy of holding families together through trials of the heart and home.
